STTRC is a Multi-Purpose Resource Center serving public and private science and technology educators
K-12 throughout San Diego County by providing the following Treasures for Teachers:
STTRC is a Meeting Place for teacher gatherings and FREE professional development workshops.
STTRC is a Library and Resource Center for educators to learn about FREE science and technology curriculum materials.
STTRC is a Distribution Center where San Diego County teachers can obtain FREE recycled classroom materials.

Here is a sample of some of the many curriculum materials we have to share with teachers.
Teachers can conveniently review materials from the library resource centerand determine which ones would enrich their students’ learning experiences. They then are able to use the materials back in their classrooms to bridge the gap between national education sources and students.

Physical Science
Grade 2 - The motion of objects can be observed and measured. |
Grade 3 - Energy and matter have multiple forms and can be changed from one form to another. |
Life Science
Grade 4 - All organisms need energy and matter
to live and grow. |
Grade 6 – Organisms in ecosystems exchange energy and nutrients among themselves and with the environment. |
Earth Science
Grade 1 – Weather can be observed, measured, and described.

Grade 5 – Water on Earth moves between the oceans and land through the processes of evaporation and condensation. |
Grade 4 – The properties of rocks and minerals reflect the processes that formed them. |
Investigation & Experimentation
All Grades – Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations.

Engineering
All Grades - California has no engineering standards but we have many wonderful sources for ideas to supplement curriculum.

We offer both a general and grade specific workshops to introduce teachers to the specific materials that can be used to supplement their curriculum.
Workshops are offered at our site or they may be scheduled at a time or place more convenient to you.
